RCA plugs are the most common type of plugs used for TVs, VCRs, DVDs, stereos, game consoles etc. These plugs are known as both 'RCA' & 'phono' plugs.
When used for video (TV,VCR,DVD etc) these might be referred to as 'composite' cables/plugs.

NOTE:
As yellow cable(probably NOT red or white cables though) is a 75ohm cable with RCA plugs (which is the standard for Digital Coax audio), you could also use yellow plugs to connect from your DVD player, or game machine etc(if it has an 'SPDIF' socket), to a Dolby Digital &/or DTS receiver, to get 5.1 surround sound.
