Flightgear is a comprehensive flight simulator, with a lot of features & addons available. However it probably isn't as easy to get started with as a commercial product like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

- Mac OS X = 10.4 or later - I haven't tested this, but it is a .dmg file, which can apparently be 'mounted' & then installed from in Mac OS X
+ Scenery - 90 degrees East to 170 degrees East (NZ, Australia, + a lot more) small area of scenery around San Francisco(part of the installation file).

Flightgear version 1.9.1, the newest available at 1 July 2009. Major changes aren't made very often(1.9 was released Dec 08), so this is likely to be a good version to have for several years.

I'm only charging for my costs(disks, packaging, printing etc), & time.

I'm selling these disks with the approval of the software creator.
Of course, it's much more handy to have a DVD ready made, than having to download & organize several gigabytes of data.

DVD will be printed on, & supplied in a sleeve, inside a cardboard dvd mailer(basically a cardboard envelope designed for cd/dvd disks)
This protects the DVD, & keeps postage cost lower.
Photo shows DVD, sleeve, cardboard mailer, & a map of which scenery is included with each disk.

Scenery is available for the whole world, I also sell 3 other disks containing the rest of the scenery.

Recommended hardware:
* 1-2 GHZ (multi-core benefits may be employed by threaded FlightGear components such as for example the tile loader)
* at least 512-1024 MB free RAM (more is better: as of 01/2008 FlightGear will often easily eat up >= 500 MB RAM by default, thus if less free RAM is available the FlightGear process would be significantly slowed down due to OS swapping)
* Video card = 128-256 MB dedicated RAM, OpenGL 1.2 capable (2.0 even better!)

* 500 MB free HD space needed for minimum installation,
* Soundblaster compatible soundcard (optional?) - preferably with EAX support
* 3 button mouse or 2 button mouse with scroll wheel
* Gameport or USB (HID compatible) joystick/yoke and/or pedals (optional)

IMPORTANT NOTE - DON'T GET RIPPED OFF:
Some sellers have sold flightgear under the impression that it's a commercial product, & charged a lot for it. None of this charge appears to have gone to the creators, or charity.
They typically give it a false name, such as 'Flight Aviator', or 'Flight Pro Sim'
However, it appears to be the exact same software, despite there being only very vague(if any) mention of 'flightgear' & 'open source' - they never mention that it's freely available.
This is also happening with other free software.
