Wired network adaptor for Wii, sometimes referred to as a LAN adaptor. Ideal if you don't have a wireless modem/router- or you prefer the security/reliability of using a wired connection.
The Nintendo Wii has 'WiFi'(wireless networking) builtin, but the Wii doesn't have a socket for a wired network connection.
Using this adaptor, with a network 'patch' cable(to connect to modem/router), will allow you to connect the Wii to any broadband modem/router with an ethernet socket(the majority have this) You will then be able to use all the internet features, just the same as if you were using the builtin wireless connection. eg: can be used for - downloadable Virtual Console games via the Wii Shop Channel - news and weather updates in the News and Forecast Channels - messaging functions in the Wii Message Board. - and any other internet-based features
Has a normal RJ-45 socket on the end - just like the socket on computers,Xbox etc.
This adaptor is not made by Nintendo, but works the same as an official Nintendo adaptor.
Supplied in a retail box.
