Brand new Component AV cable to connect your Playstation3 or Playstation2 to TV (or Projector/sound system etc).
Good quality cable.
Length: 170cm

Component cables provide the best picture quality possible for PS2, and 2nd best picture quality for PS3 (HDMI is best, though minimal differences in most cases).
Component video carries the signal in 3 wires = Y(luminance),Pr & Pb(colour information), which improves picture quality due to several technical reasons.

A suitable TV socket is shown in the picture.

Cable has Playstation3 / Playstation2 plug at one end; 3 video(component video) plugs & 2 audio(stereo) plugs at other end (see photo)

HDTV (High Definition TV):
HDTV is the term for video displayed with a higher resolution than standard video. This can drastically improve picture quality, particularly with the PS3.
Non-HDTV games etc will work perfectly fine with this cable too.
Your TV needs to support HDTV to be able to use it, HDTV is common on most recent TVs.

Playstation 3 HDTV:
- A lot of Playstation3 games support HDTV.
- PS3 can output HDTV using Component video or HDMI cables only. Other video cable types will not work for HDTV.
- Blu-ray movies = blu-ray movies with copy protection('HDCP') can NOT be displayed in HD using Component video cables. This is due to the copy protection of blu-ray. An HDMI cable is required to display blu-ray movies with copy protection in HD.

Playstation 2 HDTV:
- Some PS2 games support HDTV(High Definition TV), but I'm not sure if this is available with NZ PS2's / NZ games.
- It seems about 1/4 of NTSC PS2 games support HDTV, less PAL games support it. If you have a modified PS2, apparently you can play HDTV/Progressive Scan NTSC games on your PAL PS2.
- V9 and V10 version PS2's apparently support 576p/480p for DVD movie playback.
- PS2 can output HDTV using Component video cables only. Other video cable types will not work for HDTV.

Will not work with PS1, as PS1 doesn't support Component video.

---------
How to set your Playstation3 to use Component video:
Select 'Settings' -> 'Display Settings' -> 'Video Output Settings', and then press the 'X' button.
Select 'Component / D-Terminal' (Your PS3 might only show 'Component', this is fine)
More information can be found in your PS3 manual if needed.
More details here: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/videooutput.html

How to set your Playstation2 to use Component video:
Start PS2 without a disk in it, select 'System Configuration', then 'Component Video Out', then select 'Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr'
